Carrie,

Here is some info for myself and the Beaver.

"Beaver works are of economical and educational value besides adding a charm to the wilds. The beaver is a persistent practicer of conservation and should not perish from the hills and mountains of our land. Altogether, the beaver has so many interesting ways, is so useful, skillful, practical, and picturesque that his life and his deeds deserve a larger place in literature and in our hearts."
Enos A. Mills 1907

The Beaver is a keystone species, without whom many thousands of interdependent life forms would cease to exist.
"If you want clean water, more biodiversity, less soil erosion, and less costly damage from major floods, we must learn to live with beavers."
Beavers, Wetlands and Wildlife.
Please join us at our table "Give a Dam!" and find out for yourself why some Native Americans called the Beaver the "sacred center".
Taryn has been observing Beaver activity for the past 18 years on her farm in the Driftless Watershed.
What she has discovered "is an important first step to ensure the sustainability of life on earth." BWW

Hydrologist Dr. Donald Hey, of the Wetlands Research Inc. in Illinois, will also be present to share his latest findings on this amazing mammal.

I would like to present a program to groups who care about Wisconsin living wildlife. I would like to talk about how wildlife watchers can become involved for the first time in the political process of deciding what happens to our wildlife, and then go into various species and what their situation is in the state: bears, bobcats, beavers, deer, wild birds, and cover trapping, hunting, and the money dynamics. Wisconsin has 2.3 million wildlife watchers who have never made a decision about wildlife. I served on the advisory board to the Natural Resources State Board from 1999-2002. I would like to help our wildlife.
I can be reached at madravenbear@dishmail.net for more information - or at 608-981-2287. Thanks.

Camping is absolutely free of charge. You just need to check in at the entrance to be directed to the camping area. If you intend to show up Friday night, there will be plenty of action on the grounds and lots of opportunity to lend a hand. We'll add some final notes on who to see if you are checking in early Friday night.

Hey Tony, look for more of yours in the next few days. Thanks a million for allowing us to showcase them, and you, on the site. If you feel inspired, I think you should drop a few lines in the poetry project, your words and images are very moving!
